Leicester City moved back into the Championship's top six by beating Blackpool 2-1 on Saturday and defender Jack Hobbs says the battling manner of the victory was particularly pleasing.

City had to withstand long spells of pressure especially in the second half, but defended well to record their first league win since Boxing Day.

Hobbs produced a typically solid display at the heart of the Foxes' defence and the 21 year old praised the team's attitude as they held firm to take all three points.

"It was a real grind out there, I didn't think we played well but we won which is the main thing. I thought we did well to win it and hang onto the three points."

Leicester's task was made more difficult by a Bloomfield Road pitch in an awful state, and Hobbs was pleased with the way the team managed the conditions.

"We knew it wasn't going to be the best of pitches, it was cutting up even in the warm-up which did make it difficult but you have got to play to the conditions and I thought we did that. It was a good win."

Whilst Leicester stayed strong in defence, two pieces of excellent counter attacking brought goals for Dany N'Guessan and substitute Lloyd Dyer, and Hobbs says Leicester always looked a danger coming forward.

"We showed we could counter-attack very well and we created a lot of chances, even having one blocked on the line. There were some good crosses put in so there were a lot of positives to be taken from the game."
